In one of my paths to the south of Argentina, Puerto Madryn visited and met the right whales. The best time of year for this type of travel to the south runs from October to February as the climate is less hostile and you begin to get these amazing cetaceans to be pampered throughout the season.
The place is quaint and the entire waterfront is well cared for and used as a lookout to the sea. I stayed at the Club of ACA (Automovil Club Argentina), a facility some withdrawn from the center, about 2 km away on the coast, but located on the top of a hill so the ocean view from there was excellent. In that place one could choose between camping or renting a room with a really low cost (30 dollars per room and $ 3 per day camping space).
In my case I rented a room and prepared to review maps with proposals for the tourists who had given me. The first thing I visited (it was very close to the hotel) was the Naval Museum, where I could see a complete skeleton of a whale.
That night I walked about 100 meters and came to a lookout located at the edge of the road and I was thrilled with a postcard view: the full moon reflected in the sea lit up the horizon as the whales splashing far as knowing that were observed and happy to be part of that landscape.
