Catamarca is a province in the North of Argentina, bordering with the andes, this has some of the cultural and architectural, more stately heritage of the country.

On a tour through the streets of the city buildings that manifested architectural trends that influence the various periods are: colonial, Italianate, French, and art deco. Several of these buildings were identified national historical monuments due to its high heritage value.

There are many historical icons within this very charming province to visit, the Temple of San Francisco, a church in Italianate style which remains the heart of Fray Mamerto Esquiú, in Tinofasta, the rustic architecture of the Church of San Pedro of Fiambalá, located at Hualfin, Bethlehem. The portal and its lintel of algarrobo teach paintings and carvings that they prove the dexterity and the ability of the craftsmen of the time.
