These days it’s getting so hard just to manage the household and business that you may find that you’ve completely skipped this year’s holiday. It’s not uncommon to find yourself working 14 days in a row without even realizing it with the fast pace of today’s workplace. So maybe it’s time to think about a short holiday.
When it comes to last second holidays, you don’t need to save up for months at a time to afford that perfect trip to the Bermudas, you don’t have to take weeks off work. You can take last minute holidays over a weekend by just grabbing whatever seats are available on the next plane out.
When airlines fly, they often wind up with empty seats that they need to fill up quickly. These planes might be headed to France or Berlin or Egypt but they’re going somewhere away from work, home and stress. When you book these last minute flights, there’s a sense of fun and adventure that you won’t get from saving up for the annual holiday. Just getting away from it all on impulse with a little bit of money for food, lodging and sightseeing can really free up your mind and relieve that tension.
Most importantly it lets you know that you can do whatever you want whenever you want for as long as you live. It’s hard to remember just how free you are when you’re sitting in an office for 40 hours a week waiting for your mandated and scheduled and pre-planned holiday week. Instead of relying on that one week a year to take your holiday, try out last second holidays as a way to really enjoy yourself and take a load off.
Holidays are really robbed of quite a bit of their fun if you only take them when you’ve planned for them a year in advance, so do yourself a favour and call your office, tell them you’re taking Monday off and see what flights you can book by the end of the week.
